I guess THIS is our official email of dismal from Rudy Panucci's Radio Free Charleston, although I sense ambiguous language that makes me unsure if he's still gonna continue to use our free content. Another career shot to hell...and we do mean ours...
The EMAIL that crushed us...
The problem is that the comments WEREN'T moderated before they were published. They went directly online for everyone to see. And last night I sent out emails to prospective underwriters telling them to read the production notes and watch the show. The link I gave them took them directly to your unmoderated comments at the end of the production notes, which basically trashed me and the show and made us look real low-rent. I can only hope that I got all your comments deleted before anyone else saw them. The potential for real harm to my career was there. I'm scraping by on freelance writing money, juggling bills and expenses, and I was hoping to get the chance to do what I love and get paid, for once. I'm trying to move the show to broadcast television, and if it happens, everyone who contributes to the show will be paid. I hope you realize that your content was mainly on the show 1) as a favor to Brian, and 2) because it was free. I was actually looking forward to possibly collaborating with you and helping you get PF into some commerically viable form that could generate some money for you. You have a great concept there, but you have no idea how to properly tell your story. With some guidance, you could get it on Adult Swim easy, but as it is, they wouldn't look twice at it. My email addy is in the credits for every show. Yours was available to me because of the comments you left this morning--all eight of them. It is a shame that it ended like this. I won't be including PF in any broadcast version of the show. Good luck with what you do in the future.

Y'know, it's completely unethical to publish a private email that someone sends you. Just totally beyond the pale. If you just wanted to set up a situation where you act abominally and then get to play the victim, well you succeeded.
Yes, Tim, you weren't getting paid. Neither am I. Neither are any of the contributors to the show. However, that's no excuse to skip the point in the process where you tell me privately if you have any problem with how I'm presenting your work. If you had a problem at any single point you could have contacted me, instead of deciding to dump on me in public with no warning that you were displeased in any way.
It's no fun being cold-cocked by somebody that you thought was a friend.
Let me be as unambiguous as possible. Pentagram Flowerbox will not be part of Radio Free Charleston any longer. Good luck. I'm sure you'll do well on your own, and I know we'll do fine on our own.
I'd appreciate if you'd take down those emails that I sent you, since they weren't written for public examination, but it's up to you. It'll speak volumes about your character.
Rudy
you aren`t my friend...i am...number one,,,a favour to brian...and number 2...free content
do i need to point you to your emails or do you recall they say that?
and i`m apologizing here and now for not using rudy panuunchi`s email...YOUR email, rudy.i did not know it was in the end credits.i don`t watch rfc.i only see the parts that are shown to me by what you once referred to as my crack team of animators...remember that?RUDY?we were so young and in love then and the sky was the limit....and thank you for clearing up that you won`t be using any more of us.using.....any...more...of....us.....sounds ugly when EYE say it,don`t it?i thot that`s what you meant but i`ll not assume ANYTHING from a man i`ve never met who didn`t even know that i was a werking....that means PAID.....musician in your little town all thru the 90`s....and it wasn`t as a favour to ANYONE,rudy....coz i don`t need other people`s favors,rudy...my hole made money...every time i opened it somebody shoved money in it...maybe just to shut it up.....but if it`s MONEY that matters......there you are.aaaahhhh....remember the 90`s???i do.i was doin things....
and i think your emails speak volumes about YOUR character
So do I.
You were the only contributor to the show that I did not have direct contact with. I'm on the up-and-up with everyone who contributes to RFC about how there's no money involved now, but that if there ever are any cash rewards, it will be spread around to everyone. It's even on my freaking MySpace page.
I'll take the blame for not trying to contact you directly. I don't want to put Brian in the middle of this, and I don't want to make any excuses. I should not have used an intermediary when dealing with you as a contributor to the show.
I thought you understood that I was shopping the show around. You really paint me as some kind of imbecile, hoping against hope that the newspaper will suddenly decide to shower me with money. I'm not some stupid kid, here--I've been working for those people for 15 years. I know what I'm doing and what I can expect.
My goal was to get off my ass and produce a video show for no money for a year to prove that it could be done--so that I could get the chance to do the show with a budget in a real TV situation. Anybody can talk about doing this, but I decided to actually do it in the real world and get it out there for people to see.
I had no idea that you were so dissatisfied with way I was editing your work. I'll take the blame for not trying hard enough to find out.
I do feel that if it really bothered you so much, you might have made a little more effort to contact me and voice your concerns before blasting me in a public forum. Until Thrusday, the comments in PopCult were unmoderated. They went directly on the website for everyone to see. I could only delete them after the fact, which I only did because of the crazy things you were saying about the show on a day when I had investors checking it out. At least one of them saw your comments and expressed concerns to me about them.
Oh, and I went back and looked at the original file I was given for Bad Tofu. It was not in sync.
I do like your show, and I regret not having the chance to work with you to help you improve it.
It could be so much better. There's so much potential there. I've been told that you are hostile to suggestions about how to make the show more commercial, and since we weren't paying, I didn't press the issue.
I would invite you to post a comment to PopCult with a link here so that fans of the show can follow the further adventures, but since you've chosen to post things here that are untrue, inflammatory, and personally insult me and impugn my character, well, that's just not going to happen. I'll be glad to promote your site if you get rid of all the posts about me. I think it's safe to say you won't do that.
All I know is that I'm a guy working hard to pursue a dream, and you seem to be taking delight in trying to ruin that. I've been doing the show for eleven months, and this is the only bad experience that I've had.
As for considering you a friend--any friend of Brian's is a friend of mine. I regret that you didn't see things that way. I honestly thought that you were a willing and enthusiastic contributor to the show.
My bad.
rudy...this is timothy....i have no intention of painting you as ANYTHING....mr morton is the subject of the sentence...and what the predicate says,,,he does....the subject was the newspaper....not you....they START at repeating what other people say and getting paid for it...and that won`t change....not that i can see....we are so out of what is and isn`t in the world that we had to look up rupert murdoch....can you dig????and it made me sad that the internet in the same hands as the tv and newspaper....nobody should have to prove themselves for a year for free....there is something you are wanting more than i ever wanted anything to put yourself thru that....i don`t know you,rudy...i`m not attacking you....if you think that`s what this has been....be thankful that it isn`t....i was barely humpin your leg and not even showing my teeth, honey.
however if you DID paint anyone as a anything it'd still be too good fer the hackjob u-uhd git on rfc
